BRIEF INTRODUCTION
2025 The 6th International Conference on Power Engineering (ICPE 2025) was successfully held in Xi'an, China during December 05-07, 2025. This conference is sponsored by Northwestern Polytechnical University and IEEE, organized by School of Automation, School of Civil Aviation of Northwestern Polytechnical University. The conference has patrons such as University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, University of Quebec at Trois-Rivieres, Haribin Institue of Technology (Shenzhen), Politecnico di Milano, Kunming University of Science and Technology, Northeastern University, Faculty of Engineering, Mansoura University, University of Ferrara, Horus University-Egypt, and others.

On the morning of December 6, 2025, the 6th International Conference on Power Engineering (ICPE 2025) was officially inaugurated at Northwestern Polytechnical University. The opening ceremony was chaired by Prof. Lefei Ge and Prof. Wenjie Liu from the School of Automation, Northwestern Polytechnical University. In his opening remarks, Prof. Weilin Li, Conference Chair and Dean of the School of Automation at Northwestern Polytechnical University, highlighted that power engineering, as a key pillar of modern technological development, has been deeply integrated into critical fields including energy, environment, aerospace, industrial manufacturing, and transportation. He emphasized its vital role in promoting technological innovation and industrial transformation, and expressed his expectation that the conference would serve as a high-level international platform for academic exchange, fostering collaboration, technological breakthroughs, and industry development.
During the opening session, Prof. Yu Wu from Northwestern Polytechnical University introduced the preparation process, organizational arrangements, and overall agenda of the conference. He noted that, driven by the new wave of technological revolution and industrial transformation, power engineering is undergoing rapid evolution through deep integration with emerging fields such as artificial intelligence, digital technologies, and renewable energy. ICPE 2025 is committed to bringing together experts and scholars from around the world to exchange cutting-edge research findings, explore future development trends, and promote international academic collaboration in the field of power engineering.
2025年12月06日上午,2025年第六届国际电力工程会议(ICPE 2025)在西北工业大学正式开幕。大会由西北工业大学自动化学院葛乐飞教授、刘文杰研究员主持。大会主席、西北工业大学自动化学院院长李伟林教授在开幕致辞中指出,电力工程作为现代科技发展的重要支撑领域,已深度融入能源、环境、航空航天、工业制造、交通运输等众多关键领域,在推动科技创新与产业升级中发挥着重要作用。他期待通过本次会议搭建高水平国际交流平台,促进学术思想交流、关键技术创新与产业融合发展。
会上,西北工业大学吴宇教授介绍了会议筹备历程、组织工作及整体议程安排。他表示,随着新一轮科技革命和产业变革持续推进,电力工程正与人工智能、数字化技术、新能源等前沿领域深度融合,加速向智能化、高效化和绿色化方向发展。ICPE 2025致力于汇聚全球专家学者,共同探讨电力工程领域的发展趋势与创新成果,为国际学术交流与合作提供重要平台。



The keynote session brought together leading experts and scholars from the field of power engineering worldwide, including Prof. Zhe Chen from Aalborg University, Denmark (IEEE Fellow and IET Fellow), Prof. Jose I. Leon from the University of Seville, Spain (IEEE Fellow), Prof. Adrian Ioinovici from Shanghai University of Electric Power (IEEE Fellow), as well as Prof. Guoqiang Gao from Southwest Jiaotong University and Prof. Qiji Ze from Xi’an Jiaotong University.
With their profound academic expertise, outstanding research achievements, and extensive engineering experience, the keynote speakers delivered insightful presentations on cutting-edge topics, including energy transition, power electronics, renewable energy integration, high-power converters, railway traction power supply, and intelligent robotics. Their presentations closely aligned with global technological trends and provided a comprehensive overview of the latest advances and innovative achievements in power engineering.
The keynote speeches offered a high-level platform for academic exchange among participants and provided valuable insights and forward-looking perspectives on future energy system transformation and interdisciplinary innovation. The remarkable contributions of the keynote speakers further demonstrated the international influence, academic excellence, and professional standing of ICPE 2025.
会议主旨报告环节汇聚了国内外电力工程领域顶尖专家学者,包括丹麦奥尔堡大学陈哲教授(IEEE Fellow、IET Fellow)、西班牙塞维利亚大学Jose I. In the three invited sessions, experts and scholars including Zhi Cai from China Electric Power Research Institute, Yang Qi from Northwestern Polytechnical University, Tianxiang Yin from the University of Nottingham, Lefei Ge from Northwestern Polytechnical University, Qunfang Wu from Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Jun Zhang from Hohai University, Yuhua Du from Northwestern Polytechnical University, Hengjie Li from Lanzhou University of Technology, Kecheng He from Lanzhou Jiaotong University, and Wentao Yang from Guangxi University also delivered excellent presentations, sharing their latest research achievements and insights in related fields.

The conference featured five on-site parallel sessions, three online sessions, and two poster exhibition sessions. During the conference, three Best Student Paper Awards, three Best Young Scientist Awards, five Best Oral Presentation Awards, and four Best Poster Presentation Awards were presented to recognize outstanding contributions and achievements from participants.

energy utilization. Looking ahead, ICPE will continue to
serve as a bridge for international collaboration, focusing
on the core challenges and development needs of power
engineering, strengthening global academic exchange and
industry–academia–research cooperation, and contributing to
the safe, efficient, and low-carbon development of the power
sector.
